UDS has significant experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams to develop masterplans for regeneration and growth areas, and developing specific design guidance. Based on this experience, we have developed Placeplanning as an approach that sets the gold standard for planning and design guidance.

Placeplanning is the collaborative and multi-disciplinary process of formulating planning and design principles (relating to the environmental, social and economic impact of development, and to three-dimensional physical form) for an area (which could be one plot or site, but usually encompasses several), and showing how those principles can be implemented.
